School and Scout Troop Parties:

I know how important it is for the music to be appropriate at school and scout functions.  I also know that middle and high school students do not want to hear “Kidz Bop.”

For school parties, I only play radio edits of songs, so older kids get to hear the music they want while school officials are assured that profanity will not blare through the gym.

I have played music at many school functions such as; Proms, Homecomings, and Daddy/Daughter Dances.

Community Events:

I have played at many community events in many areas like Canton, Ann Arbor, Dearborn Heights, and Livonia.  I incorporate games, line dances, and group participation to keep the event fun.

For outdoor summer events, I often play water themed games to help kids cool off.  I have done many daddy/daughter dances and enjoy watching the guys act a little silly to make their girls smile.

Bar/Bat Mitzvahs:

At bar/bat mitzvahs, the DJ needs to help coordinate many activities: From playing the right part of each song for the candle lighting ceremony, to announcing who will give HaMotzi, to the dancing of the Hora.

Games, group dances, and group participation help keep kids engaged and happy.  For these events, I make sure the kids have fun.   I have been the DJ for many bar/bat mitzvahs in SE Michigan, and have even been the DJ at their weddings many years later.

I LOVE weddings!  It is wonderful to be able to be a part of a couple’s beautiful union.  What many people do not realize is that there is much more to the job of a DJ at a wedding than just playing music.

For my wedding clients, I help organize the event from ceremony (if they need ceremony music) to the final “goodnight.”  The reception is more than just dinner and dancing.  There are toasts, blessings, and other speeches to coordinate.

Contact with the hall staff is important to know if timing of the agenda needs to be adjusted.  Coordination with the photographers and videographers is a must so that nothing is missed.  Special announcements such as guests celebrating birthdays, introduction of the bridal party, and cutting of the cake are also important.

Then there are the very special dances from the first dance as a married couple, to the last dance of the evening.  I become a “reception coordinator” at the program order appointment that happens about one month prior to the wedding day.

And Any Party That Needs Music!

Retirements, Reunions, Birthdays, Anniversaries, and any party that needs music:

These is no event that I am not prepared for.  I have been the DJ at many different events from the ones listed above to car shows, auctions, church picnics, and block parties.  You name a party that needs music, and I am there!
